The Mead, Tunbridge Wells, joins the Wishford Schools group

The Mead School, Tunbridge Wells, has joined the Wishford Schools group, it was announced today. This highly successful school, with around 220 girls and boys aged 3 to 11, brings the number of schools in the group to six.

Wishford’s commitment to providing happy, supportive and innovative environments in which children are challenged to achieve amazing things has proved enormously successful at its other schools, which are located in Kent and along the M4 Corridor. In joining the group, The Mead can look forward to benefiting from a thriving and active community, where ideas and best practice are shared between staff, and where children enjoy inter-school activities. The Mead will also benefit from access to the Wishford’s Advisory Board, a group of five highly experienced headteachers who are available to each of the schools for help and support.

The Mead’s founder and Head, Angela Culley, said, ‘I know many school groups, but Wishford was far and away my first choice. Their underlying principles match those of The Mead hand in glove. Joining the Wishford group is very much the best way to ensure The Mead remains an outstanding school and keeps its very special ethos into the long-term future.’

Sam Antrobus, Executive Chairman of Wishford, said, ‘I am thrilled to welcome The Mead into the Wishford group. It is a truly excellent school, with a strong track record of providing its pupils with a rich and varied education, as well as successfully preparing for entry to senior schools including the local selective Grammar Schools. We are excited to be working with Angela to build on the school’s many successes, while preserving the unique character which makes The Mead such a special place.’
