Advisory Board Meeting at St Faith's Prep

The Wishford Schools Advisory Board gathered at St Faith's Prep at the end of January for a regular review of progress across the group. With huge advances at both schools, it was an opportunity to celebrate all that has been achieved to date, agree priorities for the term ahead, and share experiences.

After enjoying an excellent meal at local restuarant, The Dog Inn, owned by a former parent at St Faith's Prep, it was down to business. The first session kicked off with a presentation from St Faith's Prep Deputy Head, Helen Coombs, on managing change within the school; a useful reminder of the importance of communication before, during and after the implementation of change.

Next came an interesting presentation by St Faith's Prep's newly appointed Director of Studies, Olivia Wong. This prompted a discussion about how the Wishford schools might work together to deliver real innovation in the curriculum, with lots of great ideas contributed by the Board.

Finally it was the turn of the Headmasters, Lawrence Groves and Guy Barrett, to update the board.

One of the changes introduced by Lawrence Groves at St Faith's Prep has been to give every pupil in the school the opportunity to play a musical instrument and it was fantastic to see the benefits of this, as pupils from throughout the school performed in an informal concert to close the day. Well done to all involved.
